Preamble

Women Ventures International recognizes the challenges and obstacles that women entrepreneurs face and affirms that we will work in solidarity with women owned businesses to realize their full potential as successful entrepreneurs. The shared values below guide the work of Women Ventures International and its partners.

Compliance with Core Labour Standards

Women Ventures International and its partners are to adhere to core internationally accepted labour standards and the UN Global Compact which include respect for gender equality, human right, anti-corruption and the environment.

Promotion of Women

The business should be owned by women while observing gender equality in the workplace.

Human Rights

Women Ventures International and its partners will treat all people with whom we interact with dignity regardless of their gender, status, ethnicity, religion or education and within a safe, healthy and empowering environment.

Environment

Both Women Ventures International and its partners will respect and operate in a manner that sustains the natural environment.

Respect for Contractual and Legal Obligations

We fulfill our contractual and legal obligations and expect our partners to do the same.

Good Governance and Transparency

Women Ventures International and its partners will operate in a transparent manner and respect norms in terms of corporate good governance.

Confidentiality

We respect the privacy of all business transactions except where circumstances legally necessitate otherwise. Partners will be informed if there are compelling reasons to breach confidentiality.

Conflict of Interest

Any individual associated with the governance or administration of Women Ventures International has no decision making or voting rights regarding potential partners if there exists a familial relationship or, if the individual is associated with the governance or administration of the requesting partner business.

Donations are received by Women Ventures International only for the furtherance of the goals and objectives of the organization.

Any business/individual found to have paid fees to anyone associated with the governance and administration of Women Ventures International in anticipation or in exchange for consideration and approval of requests will be blacklisted from making any loan application or having any further association with Women Ventures International.
